If you've been involved in Internet Marketing for any length of time, you know that there are literally thousands of ways to get traffic to your website. You'll also notice that several times a month, some "guru" is telling you that "Traffic Method A" no longer works and you must start using "Traffic Method B" (which they will gladly sell you for $497) or you will never succeed online.
Truth be told, every method of traffic generation works. You just need to find your own twist to make each method work best for you.
Take banner exchanges for example. For the longest time, every so-called IM (short for "internet marketing") expert has been telling us that people are "blind to banners" and that they no longer work. But now, thanks in large part to the release of Banner Ad Blueprint, banner exchanges are receiving a lot more attention.
So, what exactly is a banner exchange? It's actually very similar to a traffic exchange. You sign up and add your own banner to the exchange. You then place a special banner code on your site which will show other member's banners. Each time the banner code on your site receives an impression, you are earning credits to have your own banner shown on other sites throughout the exchange.
But here's where the need for a twist comes in. Unless you have a high traffic web page, how do you get impressions to your site to increase your banner exchange credits?
I will reveal the methods I use in my next post. Until then, the first thing you must do is get your banner ready. You can use a tool like Adobe Photoshop, or even one of many free online banner generators.
Next, you will need to sign up for the various banner exchanges. I have included some at the end of this post for you to start with.
